1. Strays

In this unique live-action/CGI comedy by Josh Greenbaum, Will Ferrell lends his voice to Reggie, a border terrier who finds himself lost in the city. Reggie encounters a colorful group of dogs, including a Boston terrier (Jamie Foxx), an Australian shepherd (Isla Fisher), and a great Dane (Randall Park), who help him on his journey to reunite with his master, Doug (Will Forte). Despite the adorable premise, Strays is not your typical children’s movie. The R rating in the US is a result of the dogs’ foul-mouthed banter and mischievous antics. Greenbaum describes the film as emotionally grounded, delving into themes of relationships, self-worth, and the role of friends.
