Bebe Rexha has officially confirmed the end of her 3-year relationship with boyfriend Keyan Safyari, just two weeks after she shared text messages on Instagram in which he allegedly discussed her weight gain.
During a live performance in London on July 28, Bebe introduced her song “Atmosphere” to the crowd, mentioning the recent breakup and warning that she might get emotional.
“Now I just went through a breakup so I might get a little emotional, so you need to help me here,” she said according to E! Online.
“And I can’t blame myself for getting lost in the promise of you / And I can’t blame you for leaving,” she sang the song’s lyrics about being left by a lover to her audience.
While performing another song, “I Am,” a fan in the London audience held up a sign reading, “You are enough,” as Bebe visibly wiped away tears. She told the audience: “You really are trying to make a b—- cry.”
Despite the heartbreak, Bebe, 33, also mentioned her plans to visit London’s iconic gay nightclub Heaven after the show, humorously stating she might find a new boyfriend there, jokingly considering her options as “fluid.”
“I am going to be at Heaven tonight partying and looking for a new boyfriend… I don’t know why I would look for a new boyfriend in a gay club but you know — fluid?” she joked.
The news of the breakup emerged after Bebe shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent by Safyari, criticizing her weight gain. The post was later removed from her Instagram Story. The text exchange raised concerns about body image and self-esteem.
Bebe has been open about her struggles with body image and received tremendous support from her followers. She tweeted in April that: “I’ve always struggled with my weight. A bitch likes to eat,” and in June, “Human beings go through weight fluctuations it’s life and you don’t know what people are going through. Meds, disease, etc…”
Her decision to share this personal experience on stage and her candidness about body fluctuations resonated with many, inspiring others to embrace themselves as they are.
