The Barbie herself took a break from the big screen and headed to the beach! Margot Robbie was recently spotted soaking up the sun on the shores of the picturesque island of Sifnos in Greece. After the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in July, the actress was clearly in need of some downtime. She was joined by her husband, film producer Tom Ackerley, as they enjoyed a relaxing vacation together.
The couple made quite the splash as they were seen sharing a sweet kiss and warm embraces while frolicking in the crystal-clear waters of the Cyclades island. Robbie looked stunning in a stark white one-piece swimsuit, while Ackerley opted for pastel swim shorts.
Upon their arrival on the Mediterranean island, Robbie and Ackerley were seen carrying their stylish Away luggage to their accommodations. Robbie’s choice of bubblegum pink luggage bags perfectly complemented the vibrant aesthetic of her recent hit movie, Barbie.
The Greecian getaway provided a well-deserved break for the couple, who hadn’t been spotted vacationing together since their appearance on the pink carpet for the premiere of Robbie’s Barbie film. Back in July, the actress turned heads as she swapped out the movie’s pink theme for a glamorous sparkling black gown, complete with striking sleeved gloves and a dazzling diamond necklace reminiscent of a classic Barbie doll’s ensemble.
Ackerley, a producer on the film and Robbie’s husband since 2016, suited up in a sleek black tuxedo that complemented his wife’s elegant look. The couple posed for photos on the appropriately pink-colored red carpet, with Ackerley’s hand around Robbie’s waist, showcasing their close bond.
Their journey together began in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française, where Robbie starred alongside Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas, and Ackerley worked as an assistant director. After dating for a year, they exchanged vows in a private ceremony on Australia’s Gold Coast in 2016.
The couple’s connection goes beyond their personal relationship, as they share a professional partnership as well. In 2014, they co-founded a production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, alongside friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, adding yet another layer to their multi-faceted connection.
