Zakynthos, Greece – In a recent incident on Zakynthos Island, a British tourist sustained critical injuries when the quad bike he was operating veered off the road and came to rest in a field in the mountains of Agios Leon. The injured man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was promptly transported by ambulance to Zakynthos Hospital. Currently, he is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit due to the severity of his brain injuries.
A 19-year-old British national was also involved in the accident but suffered only minor injuries. Both individuals involved in the incident have not been publicly identified at this time. Authorities are actively investigating the causes of the accident.
Regrettably, this incident follows a tragic occurrence earlier this summer when another British teenager lost his life on the same island. The young tourist was fatally crushed by an overturned quad bike during his holiday.
The island of Zakynthos also known as Zante has witnessed a series of unfortunate accidents involving young tourists in recent months, emphasizing the importance of safety measures and responsible behavior while enjoying their vacations abroad. In a separate incident, two Irish teenagers, Max Wall and Andrew O’Donnell, both 18 years old, tragically lost their lives on the neighboring island of Ios during a post-Leaving Cert holiday.
