Love Is Blind Season 4 couple, Jackelina “Jackie” Bonds and Josh Demas, have announced their breakup. Jackie, a 27-year-old dental assistant, shared the news during an Instagram Live session, a little over two weeks after the Love Is Blind: After the Altar special aired on Netflix.
According to Jackie, the 31-year-old project engineer allegedly ended their relationship after she went against his wishes and had a conversation with his ex-fiancé, Monica Rodriguez, during the three-part special.
“I’m still sick about it low-key. I love that man,” she confessed to her followers during the live stream. “I was like, ‘Damn, I had all these life plans with you, you know? And then you just don’t even care,’ and I’m like, that’s crazy, over a conversation with somebody? — It don’t matter.”
Jackie revealed that she had tried to mend things and even went so far as to say she felt like she was “begging” him to be with her when she looked back at their messages.
“It is what it is,” added Jackie, who has since removed all photos of Josh from her Instagram, except for a few promotional images for Love Is Blind.
PEOPLE has reached out to Josh for comment. In the After the Altar special, fans learned that Josh and Monica got engaged in the pods during season 4, although it was never shown on camera. They later broke up, and Josh pursued Jackie after she ended her own engagement with Marshall Glaze.
However, Monica, who was friends with Jackie, publicly commented on their engagement, causing tension between her and the new couple. Jackie accused her of being “messy” and “vindictive,” while Josh labeled Monica “disrespectful” and a “clout chaser” during their heated confrontation on the show.
In May, Jackie had shared her happiness with Josh in an Instagram Q&A, describing him as her “twin” and praising their strong connection. She spoke about how they rarely argued and how he had been her rock during the fallout from her previous breakup.
Jackie concluded her message by expressing her love for Josh and her hope for a future together.
