Maura Higgins, the social media sensation and former Love Island star, made a stunning appearance at the Misfits Boxing event in Manchester, where she came to cheer on her fellow Love Island alum, Tommy Fury, in his highly anticipated match against KSI.
Maura, at 32, shared the Love Island experience with 24-year-old Tommy Fury and turned up to show her support. Though she had a soft spot for Tommy during their Love Island days, he remained loyal to Molly-Mae Hague, his partner both on and off the show.
Maura definitely caught everyone’s attention at the AO Arena with her choice of outfit for the evening. She arrived at the Misfits Boxing event in a daring black dress featuring a completely see-through torso, adorned with strategically placed poppies.
Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bambi, in January of this year. They have since become engaged, and Maura is eagerly looking forward to their wedding.
Despite her previous attempts to win Tommy’s affections on Love Island, Maura now sees him more as a brother. She shared on the Chicks in the Office podcast earlier this year, “I look at Tommy like a brother, and he looks at me like a sister…Honestly it will be the most perfect, beautiful wedding of all time and I just can’t wait.”
In the ring, Tommy Fury faced KSI, and the fight ended in a majority decision in favor of Fury. This victory came after Fury’s intense showdown with Jake Paul in February, ending their long-standing feud with a split-decision win in Saudi Arabia. KSI, stepping up to continue the battle against Fury, unfortunately experienced the same fate, losing via majority decision in Fury’s hometown of Manchester.
Fury, ever determined, stated, “I fought my absolute heart out, and that’s all you can do.” He expressed his commitment to being the best Tommy Fury he can be, emphasizing that he’s not trying to emulate his famous cousin, Tyson Fury.
KSI, on the other hand, was far from pleased with the result and plans to appeal the loss, labeling it a “robbery” and demanding a rematch. He criticized Fury for his actions in the fight, pointing out the illegal shots and the controversial decision.
The match had an electrifying start, but as the rounds progressed, it became a battle of styles and constant clinching. Despite the occasional success from both fighters, Fury ultimately secured the victory by being the more aggressive and initiating the action.
Following the fight, Fury made it clear that he’s done with influencer boxing and wants to put the “bulls***” behind him. This led to a heated exchange of words between KSI and Fury, with KSI calling for a rematch and expressing his disappointment with the decision.
