After nine years together, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally put a ring on it—literally. The football superstar is now engaged to long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez, 31, who revealed the news with a dazzling Instagram post showing off her huge engagement ring. The snap featured her hand resting on Ronaldo’s, captioned: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The couple, who met in 2016, have long been the subject of engagement speculation. Rumours swirled in April when Georgina flashed a different ring, and intensified last December when Ronaldo referred to her as his “wife” at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.
Previously, the 40-year-old Portuguese forward explained his delay in proposing: “I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ It could be in a year, six months, or a month. I’m 1,000 per cent sure it’ll happen.”
Georgina admitted her friends often teased her about the wedding, jokingly referencing Jennifer Lopez’s song “The Ring or When.”
Together, they share two daughters—Alana, seven, and Bella, three—though Bella’s twin brother Angel tragically died during birth. Georgina also helps raise Ronaldo’s other three children: Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva Maria, both eight.
