NOT SO FURIOUSDwayne Johnson Back in the Fast & Furious Franchise

On Thursday, actor Dwayne Johnson took to social media to express his excitement over the newly announced Luke Hobbs film, confirming its return with a video post. Johnson stated, “Yes, it is true. Hobbs is back.” In addition to this, he directly addressed his previous feud with fellow actor Vin Diesel, declaring that they had put their differences behind them last summer. Johnson emphasized their commitment to leading with brotherhood and resolving any issues, all while prioritizing the franchise, its characters, and the beloved fans.

According to Variety, the upcoming film will be produced by Johnson himself, alongside franchise screenwriter Chris Morgan. This spinoff is expected to bridge the storyline between Fast X and the upcoming Fast X: Part II, which is scheduled to be the original franchise’s final installment. However, Diesel has hinted that the final chapter may potentially extend into a trilogy.

While the remaining cast for Johnson’s standalone film has yet to be announced, the current Fast X ensemble includes notable names such as Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, John Cena, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, and the latest additions, Jason Momoa and Rita Moreno. Additionally, Meadow, the daughter of the late star Paul Walker, will make a cameo appearance, further adding to the anticipation surrounding this upcoming film.
