Jason Oppenheim from Selling Sunset has revealed that he maintains a close relationship with his ex-girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk despite their recent split. The 46-year-old real estate broker revealed to PEOPLE that he and Nurk, 25, still communicate “almost every day” following their breakup in May.

“This has been a transition, you know, obviously difficult,” Oppenheim reveals. “But Lou and I remain really close and we talk almost every day — we at least either text or talk.”

The couple, who cited the challenges of a long-distance relationship as the reason for their split, have parted ways amicably and harbor no ill feelings towards each other. Oppenheim, who is based in Los Angeles while Nurk primarily resides in Paris, emphasized that they remain on great terms.

Although he is newly single, Oppenheim has no plans to rush into another relationship. He expressed a desire to take things slowly and not put pressure on himself to find a new partner.

“I’m certainly not rushing into anything. I’m just gonna take it really slow,” he says.

Instead, he intends to focus on his business ventures, such as the opening of a new real estate office in San Diego for the Oppenheim Group. Additionally, Oppenheim is currently involved in filming Selling the OC, a spinoff series, and has plans to spend quality time with his friends and co-stars from Selling Sunset off-camera. He also mentioned his plans to travel for a friend’s wedding and visiting Paris for few days.

“I’m just going to enjoy traveling and kind of just taking things slow,” he says. “Just focusing on myself right now and focusing on work and the offices and staying pretty busy.”

“I’m happy,” he adds.

“I might be in Paris for a couple days. I probably will see her,” he admits of Nurk, who resides in the French capital due to her work as a model.
