Khloé Kardashian has made it clear that she has no intentions of getting back together with Tristan Thompson. The reality TV star addressed her relationship with the NBA player during an episode of The Kardashians, where she spoke with her mom, Kris Jenner.
“Tristan and I, we always get along great. Him and I have a great friendship relationship, we get along fine, and for my kids, I will put anything to the side,” she said. “What’s done is done, so what would I still be holding on to something for? I don’t need to ‘punish’ him because I’m not getting back with him.”
While they acknowledged that they were on good terms and co-parenting their daughter True, Khloé emphasized the need for boundaries. She stated that they weren’t just hanging out alone without the involvement of their children.
“These boundaries are so important to put into place with Tristan because we’ve done this song and dance a handful of times already,” she said. “I’ve gotten back with him after a cheating scandal so I don’t know if Tristan is under the impression, ‘Oh wow, OK, let’s just ride this out and eventually she’ll get back with me.’”
“I get why he would think that, so it’s my job to set boundaries that my actions show otherwise,” she continued. “I keep it very short and sweet and make sure he knows it’s always about the kids because it’s so easy to fall back into [habits]. I can’t let those old habits easily come into my life. It’s just not what I want.”
Khloé recently shut down speculations about a reconciliation after her sister Kim Kardashian was seen attending one of Tristan’s basketball games. In a comment on an Instagram fan page, she expressed her frustration with the narrative being perpetuated by fans and the media. Khloé clarified that Kim was simply supporting a family member during a difficult time, as Tristan had lost his mother earlier in the year. She compared it to her own support for her brother-in-law, Scott Disick, emphasizing that it was a family dynamic and not indicative of a romantic relationship.
Khloé and Tristan had an on-and-off relationship since 2016 and welcomed their second child, Tatum, via surrogate in August of the previous year. While they are no longer together, sources have mentioned that they became closer after Tristan’s mother passed away, and he has been making efforts to prove himself to Khloé and her family. However, Khloé remains firm about maintaining boundaries and focusing on co-parenting their children.
