The deliberations between Dendias and Gallant encompassed a comprehensive array of subjects, spanning military collaboration, coordinated exercises, advancements in defense research and development, and a comprehensive analysis of the geopolitical landscape shared by Greece and Israel. Dendias conveyed his satisfaction with the existing “Strategic Defense Relationship” between the two countries and voiced the aspiration to further amplify it. He underscored the remarkable synergy between the armed forces of Greece and Israel, evident through numerous joint exercises.

Gallant mirrored these sentiments, highlighting the significance of the long-standing strategic ties while pledging to extend the defense cooperation between the two nations. Despite the confidential nature of security matters, Dendias disclosed that their discussions will lead to enhanced collaboration in defense research, innovation, and technology, engaging defense industry entities and research institutions.

Their existing cooperation in military research and development was acknowledged, with Israel’s supply of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles to the Greek military being a prominent example. Moreover, the acquisition of Intracom Defense (IDE), a Greek technology defense company, by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in May further solidified their technological partnership.

Amid the complex regional dynamics, both ministers emphasized the role of Greek-Israeli cooperation in fostering security, stability, and prosperity. In addition, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine was addressed, with Greece staunchly advocating against aggressive revisionism.

Furthermore, the joint military exercise “Noble Dina 2023” in the Eastern Mediterranean, featuring Greece, Israel, the US, and Cyprus, demonstrated their commitment to refining operational capabilities in scenarios encompassing anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, and search and rescue missions. By strengthening interoperability and bolstering deterrence capabilities, Greece and Israel fortify their mutual defense endeavors.
