Volos, Greece – A 28-year-old man in Volos is facing charges of domestic violence, coercion, and grievous bodily harm following a disturbing incident in their home. The police were alerted to the situation by concerned neighbors who reported hearing a woman’s cries for help.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a harrowing scene. Inside their residence, they found a woman who had been subjected to severe physical abuse, resulting in her being covered in blood. To add to the distressing situation, she was holding her two-and-a-half-year-old child in a corner of the home.
The police immediately apprehended the man, who attempted to flee the scene but was subsequently arrested. The woman and her child were promptly transported to a hospital to receive the necessary medical attention and care.
According to details contained in the case file, the 28-year-old had brought his wife and child from their native Albania and had reportedly been confining them within their home against their will. Additionally, the accused had subjected his wife to repeated acts of physical violence.
The accused is expected to provide testimony before an investigating magistrate on Tuesday.
