GREEK ELECTIONKyriakos Mitsotakis Back on Campaign Trail After Testing Negative for Coronavirus

Following a negative test result for coronavirus, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of New Democracy (ND) in Greece, is set to resume his pre-election campaign. Mitsotakis shared the news on his personal Instagram account, posting a photo of the negative Covid test along with the caption “The good news of the day.”

According to sources from the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Mitsotakis will kick off his campaign on Tuesday with a visit to Nea Ionia. On Wednesday, he will continue his tour, making stops in Kavala, Thassos, and Drama.

Mitsotakis had previously tested positive for Covid-19 on June 2, which resulted in the cancellation of his planned trip to Mount Athos. However, with a negative test in hand, he is now ready to continue his campaign activities.

In a tweet posted on World Environment Day, Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of a “Green Greece” as a central pillar of his party’s program. With his resumption of campaign activities, he aims to engage with voters and promote his party’s agenda ahead of the elections.
