Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of New Democracy, announced that he has tested positive for Coronavirus, leading to the cancellation of his planned trip to Mount Athos and Halkidiki. In a video message, Mitsotakis mentioned that the close interactions and greetings during the pre-election period can come at a cost. He stated, “Today I took the Covid test, I’m positive.”

As a result, Mitsotakis will have to self-isolate at home for several days. He expressed regret over not being able to visit Mount Athos as originally planned but reassured that there would be other opportunities in the future. In a lighthearted manner, he mentioned that he would continue sharing content on TikTok, jokingly saying, “Wait for my next video.”
