During the alleged incident, the 32-year-old suspect reportedly brandished a gun, threatening Kyrgios’ mother and demanding that she surrender the keys to the tennis star’s green Tesla parked outside. He then demanded her assistance in operating the vehicle.

Kyrgios immediately contacted emergency services and utilized a smartphone app to track the car’s location, providing this information to the police. The app also enabled the speed of the vehicle to be limited to 80 km/h.

Authorities attempted to apprehend the suspect after locating him through the tracking app. However, he allegedly evaded capture, prompting the police to cease pursuit as the car entered a school zone. Utilizing the app’s location feature once again, the officers managed to relocate the vehicle and successfully arrested the suspect, who allegedly resisted arrest.

Magistrate Glenn Theakston has scheduled a pre-trial hearing for July 18th. Further legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the case.
