This is the second time Tinubu has traveled outside the country since being declared the president-elect in March. He returned from a four-week vacation in France on April 24th.

According to his spokesperson Tunde Rahman, Tinubu will utilize this trip to fine-tune transition plans, programs, and policy options with key aides without unnecessary pressures and distractions. Additionally, he will engage with investors and key allies to demonstrate Nigeria’s readiness for business under his leadership.

The president-elect is expected to return shortly to continue preparations for his official swearing-in.

While Tinubu’s victory is being challenged in an election tribunal by opposition candidates, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his stay in London for dental treatment after attending the King’s coronation last week.
