Lifestyle and beauty influencer Jackie Miller James has awakened from a medically induced coma a month after experiencing a ruptured aneurysm while nine months pregnant. Her family announced the positive news on her Instagram page, writing: “We are beyond thrilled to share that your loving prayers for Jackie have been working! Jackie is awake and was recently transferred to one of the best neurological rehabilitation hospitals in the country.”

“The doctors have been pleased upon her latest tests, numbers, and evaluations, noting that Jackie is performing above expectations at this stage of her recovery and is progressing more with every passing day,” the family continued.
The family also added that James “has an incredibly long road to recovery ahead of her,” and urged her followers to continue sending “prayers, love, and support.”
Prior to her aneurysm, she collapsed at her California home a week before giving birth and was found unconscious by her husband. In an emergency procedure, doctors performed a C-section to deliver her baby girl, Knoxly Rose, while simultaneously addressing the “severe brain bleeding and injury” caused by the the ruptured aneurysm.
According to the latest update, baby Knoxly “is a constant source of light for the entire family and continues to grow into a happy, healthy, and animated little angel.” Meanwhile “Jackie has also recently been reunited with her baby, and spends a great deal of each day with her entire family while in the hospital,” the family shared on the post.
To support Jackie’s recovery and provide her with the best care, her sisters established a GoFundMe page. According to the page, when James was in a medically induced coma and undergoing multiple brain procedures, Knoxly spent 12 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before being discharged.
The funds raised is expected to contribute to Jackie’s ongoing treatment. As of Monday, the campaign has received generous donations, including contributions from actor Kunal Nayyar, star of Big Bang Theory and actress Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars. In total, the GoFundMe has raised more than $330,000 of its $450,000 target.
However, the family would prefer to “respect Jackie’s privacy during this very personal, intimate, and challenging time.” The family added that: “Going forward, Jackie will be the one to share any further updates across her platforms (in her own unique way) if and when she is ready.”
