No Laughing MatterFunnyman Pete Davidson Splits from Girlfriend After Nearly a Year of Romance

Pete Davidson and Madelyn Cline have officially parted ways after almost a year of dating, and it’s no laughing matter. According to an insider who dished exclusively to The U.S. Sun, the split was as friendly as a handshake. “They ended things fairly recently, and I understand it was amicable,” the source revealed.

The duo, who were masters of keeping things low-key, haven’t been spotted together since January. Their last public appearance was at the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia, where Madelyn was seen supporting Pete during one of his stand-up gigs. Before that, the lovebirds were snapped at Bobo’s Café in Somers, New York, and had their debut paparazzi moment at the Beverly Hills Hotel last September.

Pete, 29, who has previously dated the likes of Kim Kardashian and Chase Sui Wonders, has reportedly been living the hermit life recently. “He doesn’t do anything these days. He just hangs in his room and watches TV. He doesn’t come out much and doesn’t really do anything,” spilled an insider. After wrapping up his comedy sets on tour, Pete reportedly heads straight back to his hotel room, avoiding the usual after-party scenes.

March 2023 was a turbulent time for Pete, quite literally, as he and then-girlfriend Chase Sui-Wonders were involved in a car crash. Pete, allegedly speeding, lost control of the vehicle, which hopped a curb and took out a fire hydrant. This incident led to a reckless driving charge, which he resolved with a plea deal.

Pete’s chaotic year didn’t end there; he also checked into rehab for what he calls “tune-ups.” A source told Page Six, “Pete regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune-ups’ and to take a mental break.” The comedian has been open about his struggles, revealing that he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder at 23. “I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it,” Pete shared in a candid chat with Glenn Close for Variety’s Actors on Actors.

As Pete moves on from his romance with Madelyn, fans can only hope the funnyman finds stability and perhaps, a bit more laughter in his life.
