Music superstar and businesswoman, Rihanna, has announced her decision to step down as CEO of Savage X Fenty, the lingerie brand she co-founded in 2018. According to Vogue Business, Hillary Super, former CEO at Anthropologie Group, will take over the position on June 26.
Expressing her gratitude and excitement, Rihanna stated: “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”
“This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer. I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level,” she added.
Hillary Super brings a wealth of experience to the flourishing apparel company. Prior to joining Savage X Fenty, she served as CEO at Anthropologie Group for four years and held leadership positions at renowned retailers such as American Eagle, Guess, Gap, and Old Navy. Super’s dedication to breaking fashion stereotypes and revitalizing retail earned her a spot on the US “Forty Women to Watch Over 40″ list in 2017.
While stepping down as CEO, Rihanna will maintain a leadership role as executive chair, ensuring her continued involvement in the brand’s strategic direction. As Savage X Fenty aims to expand beyond e-commerce, Super plans to enhance the brand’s brick-and-mortar presence and initiate wholesale operations. The company has already opened seven stores across the country since 2022.
Expressing her enthusiasm, the new CEO told Vogue Business: “I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family.”
“The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring,” Super added.
