Robert De Niro, the renowned 79-year-old Hollywood star, has shared the joyous news of becoming a father for the seventh time.

During an interview with ET Canada to discuss his upcoming film, appropriately titled About My Father, De Niro casually mentioned his new addition. When asked about being a dad of six, the Oscar-winning actor corrected, “Seven, actually… I just had a baby.”

While De Niro did not disclose the identity of the mother of his seventh child, he has previously fathered six children with three different women from his past relationships. The veteran actor has achieved great acclaim throughout his career, earning two Oscars for his remarkable performances in The Godfather, Part II and Raging Bull.

In About My Father, De Niro stars alongside Sebastian Maniscalco, portraying a man who brings his slightly embarrassing father on a vacation with his fiancée and her affluent and eccentric family. When asked about his own experiences of fatherhood, De Niro humbly admitted, “I don’t think I’ve ever been a cool father. I’m OK. My kids disagree with me at times, they’re respectful.”

With his youngest child now in the picture, De Niro acknowledged that there will be more to come. The actor, who has been married twice and is also a grandfather, shared that while he sometimes has to be firm with his children, he would prefer not to be. He expressed the universal sentiment of parents, stating, “You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”

Though recent reports have linked De Niro to Tiffany Chen, a martial arts instructor, neither party has commented on their relationship publicly. De Niro’s other six children include two with actress and singer Diahnne Abbott, twin sons with actress Toukie Smith, and a son and daughter with socialite and philanthropist Grace Hightower
