A shocking video has surfaced showing rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. The disturbing footage, obtained by CNN, has brought to light the brutal incident and corroborated allegations Cassie made in a lawsuit filed in November 2023.
The gut-wrenching video depicts a towel-clad Diddy chasing Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, through the hallways of the InterContinental Hotel. As she waits for an elevator, he catches up, striking her forcefully and throwing her to the ground. He then kicks her as she lies motionless before grabbing her belongings and dragging her across the floor.
A second camera angle captures the aftermath, showing Cassie slowly getting up and collecting her things. She picks up a phone in the hallway as Diddy returns and sits down in front of her. Moments later, he grabs a vase and hurls it at her, a chilling sequence that matches the accusations in her lawsuit.
In her court filing, Cassie, 37, claimed that in March 2016, an “extremely intoxicated” Combs “punched her in the face, giving her a black eye.” She attempted to leave, but Combs followed her, screaming and throwing glass vases as she fled towards the elevator. According to the lawsuit, Combs later paid $50,000 to the hotel for the surveillance footage of the attack.
Cassie’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, expressed his client’s resilience: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Despite the video evidence, neither Combs nor his legal team have commented on the newly released footage.
This incident is not an isolated allegation against Combs. In November 2023, Joi Dickerson-Neal accused him of rape and filming it as “revenge porn.” According to her lawsuit, Combs drugged her during their date, rendering her unable to stand or walk, and then sexually assaulted her. In December 2023, another woman alleged that Combs and two other men gang-raped her when she was 17 years old. Additionally, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones accused Combs of drug-induced sexual assault and groping in February 2024.
Combs, 54, has consistently denied all accusations. In a cryptic Instagram post, he stated, “Time tells truth,” but did not directly address any of the allegations. Aubrey O’Day, a former member of the girl group Danity Kane formed by Combs, voiced her opinion on the surveillance footage: “I hope you are all getting an even clearer picture now of who this man is and what he’s capable of,” she shared on Instagram.
In a dramatic turn of events, Homeland Security officials conducted raids on Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles on March 25. Footage obtained by TMZ showed federal officers storming his Holmby Hills estate, leaving it in disarray. Documents were scattered, safes were opened, and furniture was overturned. Aaron Dyer, Combs’ then-attorney, criticized the raid as an “unprecedented ambush” and claimed it was part of a “witch hunt” based on “meritless accusations.” He emphasized that no arrests had been made and that Combs’ travel was not restricted.
The release of the video and the ongoing legal battles paint a grim picture of Combs’ past behavior, casting a long shadow over his public persona. As more allegations surface, the pressure mounts on the rap mogul to address these serious accusations. While Combs continues to deny all wrongdoing, the growing body of evidence and the courage of those speaking out against him suggest a reckoning may be on the horizon.
