SWIFT DECISIONTaylor Swift Swipes Left on Trump, Endorses Harris, and Claps Back at AI ‘Cat Lady’ Claim

Taylor Swift has officially shaken off any doubts about her political leanings with a fresh endorsement for Kamala Harris – and a cheeky dig at JD Vance – just minutes after the vice president’s sparky debate with Donald Trump.

The 34-year-old music megastar, famous for her record-breaking Eras tour, backed Harris and Tim Walz for 2024, but she didn’t stop there. Oh no, Swift signed off her post as “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady” – a clear clapback at Trump ally JD Vance, who previously tried to shame “childless” Democratic leaders.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Swift told her 280 million Instagram followers. “Now is a great time to do your research on the issues that matter to you most.” Subtle, she is not.

The Cruel Summer hitmaker made it crystal clear where her loyalties lie, adding, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

This was all after an awkward AI incident where Trump’s camp shared a fake meme of Swift apparently supporting the former president. “Taylor Wants You to Vote for Donald Trump,” claimed the post, which had Uncle Sam and young women in “Swifties for Trump” tees.

Swift hit back at the AI shenanigans, calling out the dangers of misinformation. “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” she confirmed. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

And then came the zinger: “With love and hope, Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”

Cue the internet applause.

It’s no surprise that Swift is sticking to her blue guns. She previously voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and has been vocal about her progressive beliefs. This time, she’s backing Harris and Walz, citing their stance on LGBTQ+ rights, IVF access, and women’s rights. “I think she [Harris] is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift wrote. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the Karma lyrics in the background.

Swift’s endorsement came with a little voter education, too. She reminded her followers, especially first-time voters, to get registered early. After all, what’s an election season without a bit of civic duty from the world’s most famous pop star?

However, despite her 280 million followers and undeniable clout, not everyone’s convinced the Swiftie army can sway the vote. A recent survey by The U.S. Sun and Talker Research revealed that 61% of voters believe Swift’s endorsement won’t have much impact on the election. Another 19% said it would have “not much of an impact.” But hey, when has a little pushback ever stopped TayTay?

Swift may not be swinging entire elections, but one thing’s for sure: she’s going to speak up, shake things off, and troll her critics with the same precision she brings to writing a chart-topping hit.

Get ready, 2024 – Taylor’s in the game!
