President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of Kimberly Guilfoyle, former Fox News host and Trump fundraiser, as the new U.S. Ambassador to Greece. The news, shared via his Truth Social account on Tuesday night, highlights Guilfoyle’s close relationship with Trump and her qualifications for the role.
Trump described Guilfoyle, who is also in a relationship with Donald Trump Jr., as “a close friend and ally.” He praised her experience in law, media, and politics, saying her “sharp intellect” makes her “supremely qualified” to represent the United States abroad.
The President-elect emphasized that Guilfoyle’s appointment is aimed at strengthening U.S.-Greece relations. “She is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” he added.
Guilfoyle’s political and media background, combined with her experience as a fundraiser for the Trump campaign, positions her to play a key role in shaping U.S. policy towards Greece.
In addition to her new appointment, Trump also named Tom Barrack as the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey in a series of diplomatic announcements.
This marks another step in Trump’s ongoing efforts to fill key international posts ahead of his administration’s official start.
