The former Birmingham City star has signed a six-year contract with the Spanish giants. As part of the deal, Birmingham City will receive an additional £10 million thanks to a sell-on clause from Bellingham’s move to Dortmund in 2020. Initially, they received £25 million from the Bundesliga side.

Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid manager, had identified Bellingham as his top target for the summer transfer window. The signing is a significant achievement for Real Madrid, as Bellingham is already regarded as a highly talented player at just 19 years old. During his time at Dortmund, he scored 24 goals in 132 games and won the German Cup in 2021.
With uncertainties surrounding Luka Modric’s future as his contract nears its end, Bellingham is expected to make an immediate impact in Real Madrid’s starting lineup. The club is building a formidable team of young talents, including midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchoumeni. Bellingham joins left-back Fran Garcia as Real Madrid’s second permanent signing of the summer.
