THE CATCHTurkish National Arrested at Athens International Airport with Fake IDs and Bullets

Athens, Greece – Greek authorities arrested a 32-year-old Turkish national on Monday evening at Athens International Airport after discovering that he was in possession of two counterfeit Portuguese identity cards and four 9mm bullets.

The arrest occurred during a routine luggage inspection as the individual was preparing to board a flight to Mytilene, Lesvos, on Monday evening. The discovery of the four 9mm bullets initially raised suspicions.

Subsequent investigations led to the uncovering of the two counterfeit Portuguese identity cards, further deepening concerns about the individual’s intentions and activities.

Counter-terrorism officers have now initiated an investigation into whether the arrested suspect may have any connection to the recent gangland-style shooting that resulted in the tragic deaths of six individuals. The shooting incident took place in the East Attica seaside town of Artemida, located approximately 20 kilometers from the Greek capital.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working diligently to ascertain any possible links between the arrested individual and the gangland-style shooting incident in Artemida. The discovery of counterfeit IDs and ammunition raises critical questions about potential illicit activities and connections.
