The 31-year-old forward is set to represent the Greek national team in the upcoming World Cup next month, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
Before joining the NBA, Thanasis was initially drafted by the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA draft. He began his professional journey in the developmental league affiliate of the Knicks in Westchester and later made his NBA debut during the 2015-16 season. After spending three seasons playing in Europe, he eventually joined his younger brother and two-time MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, in Milwaukee.
Despite receiving multiple offers from other teams, including the New York Knicks, Thanasis decided to return to Milwaukee. As the older brother of franchise superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, Thanasis brings energy, a positive locker room presence, and motivation to the team.
With the re-signing of Thanasis, the Milwaukee Bucks have reached the maximum of 15 guaranteed contracts on their roster, solidifying their lineup for the upcoming season.
