AEK claimed its 13th league title after a comfortable victory over Volos, securing the championship in the 2022-23 Super League. The win sparked exuberant celebrations as the team reveled in their first title at the newly constructed OPAP Arena stadium in Nea Filadelfia.

AEK dominated the match, with Steven Zuber, Mijat Gacinovic, Orbelin Pineda, and Damian Szymanski all finding the net in the final game. The team basked in the glory of their triumph, both inside and outside the stadium, surrounded by their ecstatic fans. In contrast, Panathinaikos faltered, drawing 1-1 against Aris and finishing five points adrift from the top spot they had held for most of the season. Laszlo Kleinheisler opened the scoring for Panathinaikos, but Juan Iturbe equalized for Aris, who also had a missed penalty in the second half.

Olympiakos claimed third place with a 1-0 victory over PAOK, securing a spot in next season’s Europa League unless PAOK emerges as the Greek Cup winners in the final against AEK on May 24. Diadie Samassekou’s goal sealed Olympiakos’ triumph at PAOK’s Toumba Stadium.

In the playouts, Lamia staged a remarkable comeback at Nikaia, falling behind 2-0 against Ionikos but managing to score twice in the second half to secure a crucial 2-2 draw. This result condemned Ionikos to relegation. Lamia’s survival in the Super League was ensured by a crucial free-kick goal from former Manchester United player Zoran Tosic.

In other playout matches, OFI defeated Panetolikos 2-0 to top the standings, Asteras drew 1-1 with Atromitos, and Levadiakos shared a thrilling 3-3 draw with PAS Giannina.

The final playout standings were as follows: OFI with 41 points, Atromitos with 38, PAS Giannina with 31, Panetolikos with 30, Lamia with 29, Ionikos with 27, and Levadiakos with 26.

Panserraikos has already secured promotion to the Super League from the Super League 2, while Kifissia is likely to claim the second promotion spot.
