Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has set a new Premier League record for most goals scored in a single season, surpassing Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole’s previous record of 34 goals. Haaland, who had already set a record for a 38-game season, scored his 35th league goal of the campaign against West Ham.

The 22-year-old Norwegian striker expressed his happiness and pride, adding that the team’s success was his priority. Haaland’s 35 goals are also the most by a player in a single campaign in the English top division since 1966-67, and he still has five games left to add to his tally. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised Haaland’s exceptional performance, describing him as a special and unique player. Haaland’s debut season in English football has been described as breathtaking and astonishing by experts and former players.
