AJ TRAINSAnthony Joshua is Set to Return to Training this Week, and Could be Back in the Ring by December

Anthony Joshua is set to return to training this week, signaling his potential comeback to the boxing ring before December.

The former unified heavyweight champion last fought in a close points victory over Jermaine Franklin last month. Recent reports suggest that Joshua’s highly anticipated showdown with Deontay Wilder is nearing its finalization.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressed his desire for the British fighter to have another warm-up bout before facing the former WBC champion. Speculation has surrounded a potential all-British clash with Dillian Whyte. Now, it appears that Joshua is about to commence his training camp, preparing for the much-anticipated fight with Wilder.

Journalist Dan Rafael shared on Twitter that he spoke with Joshua’s trainer, Derrick James, who revealed that Joshua is scheduled to return to the gym on Friday. Talks for the long-awaited grudge match between Joshua and Wilder, projected to take place in Saudi Arabia this winter, began in April. Unlike their initial negotiations five years ago, discussions this time have progressed smoothly, leading Wilder’s head coach, Malik Scott, to anticipate an imminent announcement.

The Joshua-Wilder bout is expected to be part of a four-man tournament involving Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, creating further excitement in the heavyweight division.
