Based on ARC’s data for the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Athens has experienced a remarkable 52 percent surge in bookings from US travelers compared to the previous year. This impressive growth has solidified Athens’ position as the 9th most sought-after European destination among Americans for the summer season.

In addition to Athens, ARC’s data reveals that Istanbul and the Netherlands have witnessed the highest year-on-year increases in bookings, with 183 percent and 130 percent respectively. Other popular European cities for US travelers this summer include London, Rome, Paris, Keflavik, Barcelona, Madrid, and Dublin.

Steve Solomon, ARC’s Chief Commercial Officer, attributes the robust demand for European destinations to the lifting of travel restrictions. Compared to the same period last year when limitations were still in place, the removal of constraints has resulted in a surge in travel demand from the US to Europe.
