In May, Athens International Airport experienced a significant surge in passenger traffic, with a total of 2,538,086 passengers recorded. This represents a remarkable increase of 23.4% compared to May 2022 and a noteworthy growth of 11.1% compared to the same month in 2019.

Both domestic and international traffic witnessed substantial growth, surpassing the levels recorded in 2022 by 20.6% and 24.8% respectively. Moreover, in comparison to May 2019, domestic passenger traffic showed an impressive increase of 15.6%, while international traffic grew by 9.1%.

From January to May, the cumulative passenger traffic reached 9.15 million, marking a substantial rise of 39.9% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year and a solid growth of 5.9% compared to 2019. Domestic traffic experienced a notable increase of 29.9%, while international traffic saw a remarkable surge of 45.1% compared to 2022. Furthermore, compared to 2019, domestic traffic rose by 7.9% and international traffic by 4.9%.

During the five-month period, the number of scheduled flights reached 80,878, exhibiting an increase of 17.4% compared to 2022 and a growth of 4.1% compared to 2019. Domestic flights experienced a rise of 10.4%, while international flights saw a significant increase of 23.4% compared to 2022 and 8.0% and 1.3% respectively compared to 2019.
