TOP DESTINATIONSantorini Most Google-Searched European Holiday Destination for African Travelers

According to a recent survey conducted by CV Villas, Santorini has become the top European holiday destination for African travelers. As Covid restrictions ease and international travel resumes, more South Africans and Africans from other countries are embarking on well-deserved vacations abroad.

The survey analyzed Google search data from the past year and revealed that Santorini emerged as the most searched European holiday destination in 15 African countries, including South Africa, Cameroon, and Ethiopia. Following closely behind were Ibiza, known for its vibrant nightlife, and Tenerife, a Spanish Canary Island.

While Ibiza captured the interest of Moroccan, Kenyan, and Zimbabwean travelers, Sicily and other island destinations such as Antalya in Turkey, Mykonos in Greece, and Mallorca in Spain also garnered attention from African tourists.

Interestingly, Ibiza was the top choice for North and Central American as well as South American travelers, while Santorini proved to be the most popular European destination for Asian travelers. European travelers, on the other hand, favored Tenerife.

Pete Brudenell, the General Manager of CV Villas, expressed excitement about the survey results, emphasizing the opportunity to inspire travelers with the diverse offerings of Europe, ranging from breathtaking landscapes to vibrant nightlife and serene beach retreats. These findings highlight the global admiration for European travel and the enduring curiosity among travelers to discover hidden gems within the continent.

As African travelers venture abroad, Santorini has captivated their imaginations, beckoning them with its enchanting beauty and allure.
