EUROVISIONFinland, Sweden and Israel Qualify for Eurovision Grand Final

Ten acts have successfully advanced from the first Eurovision semi-final in Liverpool and will compete in the grand final on Saturday.

Among the qualifiers are Finland’s Käärijä, Sweden’s Loreen, and Israel’s Noa Kirel. The semi-final featured a total of fifteen acts, each performing on stage in front of a lively audience of 6,000 earlier.

Unfortunately, five acts did not make it through to the final. Ireland, Malta, Azerbaijan, Latvia, and the Netherlands did not secure a spot in the next round. The semi-final also featured a special performance by Liverpool’s own Rebecca Ferguson, alongside Ukraine’s singer Alyosha, as well as a captivating medley by Rita Ora.

Six countries have already secured their place in the grand final. This includes the “big five” countries—France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK—and last year’s winners, Ukraine. Although Ukraine should have been the host for this year’s competition, the ongoing war situation prevents them from fulfilling that role. Therefore, the United Kingdom will act as the host on behalf of Ukraine.
